Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, Guiseppe Lonardi
Deep red wine in colour of a warm, attractive, slightly 'plummy' style, with quite a rounded, velvety palate. Nowadays much more a wine of finesse. Slightly sweet with dryness on the finish - Amarone Valpolicella has lightened its character. A surprisingly balanced wine in spite of its 15% alcohol. Made from dried grapes raisined in drying rooms with further ageing in French oak barrels.
